Had the same idea too. The prisoner that gets killed looks exactly like Luchist Lasso from Shaman King and I was like, "wait is this anime done by Hiroyuki Takei?".

His voice is so not you but we can see their art style is a little similar to shaman king

Animation's alright, but I can't shake the feeling that there are a lot of reused frames/segments here and there, and the Kondo Isami protagonists shouts a lot more than I think is necessary.

The exaggerated character archetypes (plus colors) doesn't feel that appealing to me on this first impression either- will probably pass this show up. But it was worth checking out at least

id ather have this mc instead of a shy and timid mc who looks like a shota with a petite body.

It was very noticeable during the scene where Toudou cuts the ropes but I guess I can't blame them for that because there isn't really a need to individualize the rope cutting.

So far, I like all the characters except Red. :/

This is why I prefer to skip Openings. The main bad guy is MCs little brother. Probably taken in by the bad guy from MCs memory. Now I feel like skipping this anime though it was a fun first episode watching samurai power rangers.
